Former White House strategist and podcaster Steve Bannon has suggested that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers assisting with airport operations is a "test run" for the 2026 midterms. During a conversation with conservative lawyer Mike Davis, Bannon suggested that ICE agents should be stationed at polling places, as it is against the law to vote in federal elections. Davis agreed, stating that if an illegal alien can't vote in a federal election, it's a federal crime to do so. On Monday, ICE and Homeland Security Investigations officers began supporting Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers at multiple airports around the country. President Trump has acknowledged the initiative, stating it was his idea and will continue for as long as it takes.
