Ferrari has reversed its decision to use haptic controls on its steering wheels in its 12Cilindri and Purosangue models, following significant backlash from customers. The automaker is offering a retrofit to customers, replacing all haptic control with physical replacements. The retrofit will be expanded to include the 296 GTB, 296 GTS, and the Roma Spider. The new design swaps out all of the controls for physical replacements, except for the engine start/stop button, which remains too far away from the user's hand. The company developed the new wheel and will be offered as optional equipment for the various models, but authorized dealers will install it.
