Howie Rose, a fixture for the Mets on television and radio for four decades, will retire after this season. His distinctive voice and style and love of the game led him to the team's Hall of Fame. Despite the decline in radio power, Rose's passion for the game and attention to detail have always been appreciated by Mets fans. He once left for treatment of bladder cancer but returned for the start of the 2022 season. Despite previously announcing he would only work half the games for the 26th and all postseason games if the Mets make it back there, Rose has announced his retirement.
