DeVinck: Our nation needs a father who is kind and compassionate

Writer and author Alex DeVinck, whose father died at the age of 100, was a man of integrity, a college professor, an author, and an intellectual, but he was a stranger in the house where he grew up. He never celebrated his birth date or congratulated him on his wedding or birth birth, but remained silent throughout his life. He believes that the nation needs a kind and compassionate father who doesn't have the greatest amount of money but also the most amount of wisdom and kindness. DeVincks argues that while President Donald Trump is flawed, the flaws of a flawed human being outweigh the good of a person who represents a unified nation. He criticizes both the MAGA community and Democrat community for creating divisions within their own territories and expresses his own personal feelings about ugliness, falsehoods, greed, narcissism, and vengeance.
