Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts has been placed on the injured list with a right oblique strain, but is optimistic about his recovery. Betts left a game after feeling a "little grab" on his right side while running from first base to score on a Freddie Freeman double. While initially describing the injury as lower back pain, Betts was later diagnosed with an oblique issue. He has previously had to leave the game due to a left oblique/abdominal strain, which he believes is less severe than this. The Dodgers are hopeful that Betts' absence won't hinder their progress.
