A baggage handler at LAX, Nick Ruiz, has been accused of throwing expensive guitars onto the tarmac during his flight back to New York from Los Angeles. The incident was captured on camera in TikTok and has been viewed by 4 million times. Ruiz filmed the incident on his smartphone and called it a "fireable offense" for disrespecting others' property. It is unclear whether the culprit works for an airline, but US airlines are required to accommodate instruments as checked baggage or carry-on if they can fit under the seat or in the overhead bins. To prevent potential damage, flyers are advised to pack their instruments in hard-shelled cases labeled "fragile".
