The Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) has launched its first review of Direct-to-Employer (DTE) healthcare arrangements, which allows businesses to negotiate directly with hospital systems rather than going through a middleman insurance provider. The report revealed that major nonprofit hospitals across the state are meeting strict price caps, offering businesses an affordable alternative to traditional insurance models. All participating health systems included IU Health, Ascension St. Vincent, Community Health Network, Franciscan Health, and Parkview Health. Governor Mike Braun called the report a win for the state’s economy. The Indiana Chamber of Commerce also suggested that expanding DTE options could help with increasing healthcare costs.
