Country-music songwriter Luke Bell died in 2022 from a fentanyl overdose. His ballad "The Bullfighter" inspired Noeline Hofmann to embark on a music career. Hofmann recorded and released her version of the song in 2025, following her breakthrough song "Purple Gas." She credits Bell's lyrics as a crucial part of her personal journey and honoring his legacy. Bell's family released a 28-song collection of his recordings last fall.
