Illinois State Police has released in-squad and officer body camera footage of the fatal officer-involved shooting of Joseph Moreno, a 36-year-old Warrenville man, on I-88 on April 27. The state police had sought Moreno in connection to a report of a missing person and had followed him from the Warrenville area onto I-87. As police trailed him, Moreno held a gun outside of the car window, pointed it at officers and at one point fired a shot out the window. The officer followed Moreno's Honda sedan for 20 minutes before it stopped at Keslinger Road. As Moreno got out of the vehicle holding a firearm, an officer fired two shots, fatally injuring Moreno. The video of the shooting is being made public in accordance with ISP's commitment to integrity and public transparency.
