The Mummy director, Lee Cronin, has defended the "domestic setting" of the Universal movie, stating that the franchise's unique horrors shouldn't be limited to tourists in Egypt. The film follows a father and wife whose daughter mysteriously returns eight years after she disappears in the desert. Cronin's comments were made in the latest issue of SFX. The Mummy franchise, which dates back to the '30s, is known for its themes of revenge and revenge.
