Anisfield-Wolf Book Awards name 2026 finalists

The 2026 Anisfield-Wolf Book Awards (AWBA) has named 11 finalists for the only national endowed juried prize recognizing books that enhance understanding of race and human diversity. The AWBA, founded in 1935 by poet Edith Anesfield Wolf, is now in its 91st year and administered by the Cleveland Foundation. The finalists include G.G.enega Adesina, "Death Does Not End at the Sea," "The Hollow Half: A Memoir of Bodies and Borders," and "The Second Emancipation: Nkrumah, Pan-Africanism, and Global Blackness at High Tide". Four winners will each receive $30,000, triple the award amount from previous years.
