Cheniere Energy (NYSE:LNG) shares have surged after hours following missile strikes on Qatar's Ras Laffan Industrial City, which produces about 20% of the world's LNG. The stock closed at $266.22, up 5.85% following the news. The Israeli strikes on Iran's largest natural gas plant followed that of Iran's, which also affected its supply stability. The ongoing closure of the Strait of Hormuz also contributed to upward pressure on prices. Thailand's Energy Minister confirmed that the company is negotiating to increase LNG deliveries under an existing long-term contract, raising shipments from 1 mtpa to 1.3 mtpa.
