Judge lifts judicial control on two Italian fashion firms in worker exploitation case

Italian fashion companies Alberto Aspesi and Dama Spa, owner of the Paul & Shark brand, and three Chinese nationals were placed under investigation on March 17 by Milan prosecutors for worker exploitation. A 25-page ruling by Judge Roberto Crepaldi stated that "the conditions do not exist" for placing them under judicial oversight, and that it was not proven that the directors were complicit in the crime of labour exploitation. Milan prosecutors are planning an appeal to confirm the judicial oversight measure.
