Students From Temecula Competing In Riverside County Spelling Bee

A total of 29 Riverside County students from grades 4 to 8 are competing in the 48th Annual Riverside County Spelling Bee, competing for a spot in the Scripps National SpellingBee. Riya Rakesh, a 5th-grader from Temecula Luiseno Elementary School, is representing the Temeculula Valley Unified School District, while Eric Vizcarra, a Bella Vista Middle School 8th grader, is the alternate. The county contest, which starts at 9 a.m. on March 26, is free and open to the public. In 2025, Victoria Li was named the Riverside County champion after 23 rounds of competition.
