Column: It’s not playoffs or bust for Chicago Blackhawks next season — but they need to provide hope

The Chicago Blackhawks are yet to make significant postseason noise since their Stanley Cup win in June 2015. The team has been rebuilding under the guidance of general manager Kyle Davidson, who has been in charge since March 2022. Despite an 11-point increase from 2024-25, Davidson was pleased with the team's progress in the past season. The focus on building talent through the draft brings with it the trials and errors of youth, including Ryan Greene's ice vision and Oliver Moore's speed. However, there are still questions about the future of the team, with questions about their ability to grow from these learning experiences. The Hawks have finished in the bottom four of the NHL each of the last four seasons and are expected to be disappointed with their performance next year.
