Oregon lawmakers have passed a bill that would increase the state’s lodging tax to fund statewide conservation efforts. The 1.25% tax is expected to generate over $30 million per year for environmental and wildlife programs. The bill was defeated by a coalition of over 100 businesses. Despite the increase, Oregon will still have the third-lowest lodging tax in the U.
