ABC has pulled Taylor Frankie Paul's upcoming season of "The Bachelorette" season 22, following reports that Paul and her ex, Dakota Mortensen, are involved in an ongoing domestic violence investigation. The decision comes amid a video showing Paul attacking Mortensen in front of her young daughter during a 2023 incident. The West Jordan Police Department confirmed that there is an open “domestic assault investigation” regarding Paul and Mortensen. Some alumni of the hit show and its sister show, "The Bachelor," have expressed outrage over the decision to cancel the season. Rachel Lindsay, who was the show's first Black lead in 2017, said it was bad for Disney and Hulu for not vetting the material. Arie Luyendyk, the series’s 22nd “Bachelor," expressed his support for the decision, but felt it was the right choice for Paul.
