President Donald Trump has announced that he will fund the Transportation Department (TSA) despite Congress impasse over the funding of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Homeland Security Investigations (ICE) could stay at airports even after TSA workers receive their pay and backpay, according to ICE's director, Michael Homan. The agency has faced criticism for its violent enforcement of President Donald Trump's anti-immigration agenda and has been seen as helpful in airport security operations. However, Homan defended ICE's presence at airports, stating that wait lines have decreased and need to decrease more.
