World ID wants you to put a cryptographically unique human identity behind your AI agents

Identity startup World has launched a beta beta of Agent Kit, a new way for humans to prove they are directing their AI agents and to limit access to AI agents working on behalf of an actual human. The company's technology, World ID, uses the same iris-scanning technology as the basis for a cryptographically secure, unique online identity token stored on your phone. World believes this could be a potential solution to the problem of dealing with large-scale automated requests from thousands of automated agents. The idea could also apply to sensitive reputational systems like online forums and polls, where it is important to prevent automated astroturfing or terrorism.
