Severe weather possible this weekend as OKC gears up for marathon, arts festival

The National Weather Service has warned that severe weather could potentially impact the weekend activities in Oklahoma City, including the 26th annual Memorial Marathon and the 60th annual Festival of the Arts. Forecasters predict that Saturday's weather could be more severe, possibly on the stronger side of the day. Angela Cozby, Executive Director of the Festival of The Arts, said they have a police command post on-site and take safety measures if there is a threat of severe weather. However, she noted that the tents at the festival are secure and that their tents are weighed down by water barrels and steel metal frames.
