German Foreign Minister, Johann Wadephul, has called for the European Union to abandon the unanimity principle that governs most of its decision-making. This comes amid a dispute with Hungary over a large loan to Ukraine backed by other EU members. The next elections to the European Parliament must be held in 2029.
