Listings With This One Word Sell for More, According to Zillow

New research from Zillow has found that home buyers will pay more for homes with cottage-inspired features. The word "cottage" in a house listing is associated with a 3.2 percent sale premium. While many homes are designed to be larger and technologically advanced, buyers prefer homes that feel more personal and aesthetic. The research also revealed that waterfront homes sell for 3% more than other listings, and those with a dock sell for even more at 5.4% or about $19,500 extra on the typical home.
