Analaska's Anchorage Assembly is considering a change to municipal code to reduce public reporting provided by the Municipal attorney's office. The current Assembly, which is ending its session following the April election, has received quarterly reports from the Attorney's Office of all municipal settlements and indemnifications since 2023 due to a high number of legal claims brought against the municipality during the previous Mayoral administration. The Municipal attorney’s office argues that other communication methods are more protective than current practice. The vote on this proposal is scheduled for April 28.
