Zack Snyder, the directorial director for the Marvel Comics superhero film "Justice League" five years ago, delivered a film that was shrouded in secrecy and shrouded in rumors. The film was completed after principal photography in late 2016, but Snyder chose to step back after the loss of his daughter Autumn, leading Warner Bros. to hire Joss Whedon, the architect of 2012's The Avengers, to finish the film in post-production. Despite this, the film's theatrical cut was a box-office catastrophe that failed to break even, leading to a fan movement demanding the release of Snyder's original vision with all the footage he shot. Justice League was a four-hour epic with the seismic stakes of one of DC’s numerous Crisis events. Despite not being praised for its portrayal of the team of superheroes, it is considered one of the best of Snyder’s trilogy.
