SEC eyes shift to twice-yearly earnings reports

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is working on a proposal to allow public companies to release twice a year, instead of quarterly, in an effort to reduce the cost and burden of preparing for quarterly earnings. The proposal is supported by both SEC Chairman Paul Atkins and President Trump. If approved, the proposal will undergo a public comment period and be reviewed by the SEC.
