Why Mazda Is Making Movies Now (Exclusive)

Mazada is launching a new version of its CX-5 SUV and using this year's Academy Awards to launch a film-themed campaign, "5 Sides of the CX5," using director Paul Hunter's development of short films based on five classic film genres: Romance, action, sci-fi, musical and horror. The campaign will be brought to video platforms like YouTube, TikTok and Hulu, with CMO Brad Audet also indicating that it is considering bringing it to movie theaters. The timing of the campaign's launch coincided with the Oscars and allowed for members of the Film Academy’s Academy Gold mentorship program to assist with production. Audet credits Hunter for creating an original programming that can stand on its own and for emphasizing the importance of the car and its features.
