Voters in Virginia's 1st Congressional District are set to cast their votes on Tuesday in the Democratic or Republican primary to determine who will be on the ballot in November's general election. The district includes all of the Historic Triangle and over a dozen eastern and central Virginia counties. Seven Democratic candidates are vying to take on incumbent U.S. Rep. Rob Wittman, R-Westmoreland, for the district's representation in Congress. Republicans will also have a statewide primary to select a nominee to take over three-term Democratic incumbent Sen. Mark Warner. Early voting can be done in person, depending on jurisdiction where a voter resides. The last day for early voting is Saturday.
