The New York Yankees defeated the Giants 7-0 on Opening Day, largely without any significant contributions from Aaron Judge. The team's last three hitters, José Caballero, Ryan McMahon and Austin Wells, accounted for three runs, four hits and three RBI. Despite some criticism of the team's offseason approach, Aaron Boone remains confident in his team's ability to perform well. The Yankees had baseball's best offense last season, leading all of MLB in runs scored, home runs, wRC+ slugging percentage and wOBA. Despite missing Giancarlo Stanton for more than two months, the team is expected to outperform its 2025 production and raise the floor compared to last year's.
