Police Shoot, Kill Armed Man Linked To Earlier Gas Station Shooting In South LA: LAPD

An officer-involved shooting took place in the area of W. 111th Street and Van Buren Avenue in South Los Angeles. The LAPD responded to a radio call of an "assault with a deadly weapon" at a gas station, which indicated the suspect had shot another man in the abdomen. Police located the suspect in the 77th Division and initiated an officer-intensive shooting. The man was struck by the officer's gunfire and pronounced dead by the Los Angeles County Fire Department. No officers or community members were injured in the incident. The handgun was recovered at the scene and will be used as evidence.
