House Republican leaders are considering a two-month extension of the nation's warrantless spy powers, in an effort to avoid further controversy. The extension would allow the House to debate a series of reforms proposed by the party's conservative wing, including requiring a warrant to review any information collected on individuals. The proposal is still being worked through the Office of Legislative Affairs and hasn't been cleared for the floor.
