Sujata Tibrewala, a Milpitas artist, has revealed that art saved her life seven years ago when she spiraled into depression. She began painting, expressing her sadness, sorrow, and anger in a therapeutic way. Eventually returned to work and ran five full marathons. She exhibits her artwork professionally at local and international venues and continues to teach art workshops. Tibrawala is among the over 370 visual artists participating in Open Studios’ 40th anniversary, which will invite the public to visit more than 100 studios and galleries across the country.
