The Bonneville and Bingham County GOP honored former state legislator Dean Mortimer at their annual Lincoln Day dinner. Mortimer, who served for 14 years in Idaho's Legislature, received the "Bonneville County Republican Party Public Service Award. Idaho Sen. Dave Lent shared an original poem, "The Measure of a Good Man," in tribute to Mortimer. The event also highlighted the ability to come together as Republicans under Reagan's "big tent." Lt. Gov. Scott Bedke delivered the keynote address, stating that Idaho is the best place to live, work, and raise a family. The Bonineville County GOP plans to hold multiple forums for the public to learn the positions of candidates interested in running.
