The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has warned that if the Iran war continues, inflation could reach a high of 4.2% in the US, marking the highest inflation rate among G7 member countries. This comes as Iran's blockade of the Strait of Hormuz could exacerbate inflationary pressures from President Trump's tariffs. The OECD also predicted overall G20 inflation to hit 4%, up from 3.4% last year. It warned that prolonged increases in energy prices and business costs could significantly increase consumer price inflation, which could negatively impact growth. The group also noted that global growth is likely to slow to 2.9% in 2026, down from the previous year's 3.3% figure.
