The NFL's Front Office and Coaching Accelerator Program, which has been instrumental in identifying and advancing minority talent across the league, will be expanded to include non-minority participants when it returns in May. The program will no longer focus on candidates within five years of getting the top job and instead focus on those the league views as being ready. It will also combine coach and GM candidates and expects about 40 total candidates with "really strong diverse representation." The change comes as the league struggles to find a way to accommodate diverse talent and address challenges in its hiring schedule. Despite recent controversies over diversity at its top club ranks, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell remains committed to diversity, despite the Trump administration's efforts to dismantle all DEI programs.
