Rep. Jim Clyburn, 85, is running for an 18th term in Congress

Longtime Rep. Jim Clyburn, one of the oldest members of Congress, has announced he will run for an 18th term in the House. This comes as two former top Democratic leaders, Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer, have announced their retirement. Clyburn was first elected to Congress in 1992 and has since risen through the ranks, including chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus and chairman of both the House Democratic Caucus. He also served as majority whip after Democrats took control of the House in 2006.
