Dropbox is launching three new apps to its ChatGPT interface, including a Dropbox file app, a Dropbox Dash enterprise search app, and a Reclaim AI calendar app. These apps will allow users to access, save, and act on their work without leaving the AI interface. This move is part of Dropbox's strategy to become a productivity operating system, not just a chat tool. The core Dropbox app, now globally available to customers on any plan, allows users to preview their Dropbox files and save AI-generated content directly back to Dropbox. The third app adds Reclaim's AI scheduling tool, which Dropbox acquired for $40.2 million in July 2024, directly into Chat GPT. The launches reflect a shift in how productivity software companies are positioning themselves relative to AI chat interfaces.
