The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) has reported that the country's crude oil exports decreased by 3% in 2025 from 2024, marking the first annual decrease since 2021. This comes despite a 3% increase in crude oil production to a record 13.6 million bpd. The EIA also noted that exports decreased to Europe and the Asia and Oceania region, the two top regional destinations for U.N. exports, likely due to increased OPEC output and increased global demand for light, low-sulfur crude oils, decreased exports to Europe by 7% and China by 75% to Singapore and 89% to China.
