The White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, one of Washington’s premier events, was interrupted by a shooting incident outside the ballroom during the event. The journalist, who was a scholarship recipient for the association, was locked in a bathroom when the Secret Service alerted him to the situation. Within minutes, the gunman was subdued and secured President Donald Trump. The event was held at the Waldorf Astoria in downtown D.C. with upgraded security. The White House correspondents, including top correspondents from ABC, Bloomberg and Reuters, were honored with a meal suited for a president and a speech by the president.
