Three law firms, Romanucci & Blandin, Scherr Law Firm, and Fulmer Sill, are launching a civil investigation into the death of college basketball player Ethan Dietz, who died days after receiving a traumatic blow to the head during a game. The investigation aims to establish a clearer picture of what occurred during Dietz's injury and what policies, processes, and oversight were established regarding the school, the athletic conference, and any other body overseeing these athletes. Despite the head injury, Dietz was allowed to return to the game and compete. His death was later ruled as caused by complications of right-sided epidural hematoma, which collects blood between the skull and outer brain lining on the right side.
