Over 1,000 Staff at Australian National Broadcaster Strike for Better Pay, Conditions

Over 1,000 staff from the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (AL) have taken to the streets for the first time in 20 years. They are demanding an improved pay offer and improved working conditions. The strike began on March 25 and resulted in the rejection of management's offer of a 10-percent pay rise across three years. The staff are also protesting the use of short-term contracts and limited career progression.
