A federal judge has reinstated a union bargaining agreement for 320,000 employees of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) after the agency had previously cancelled the agreement due to an order from President Donald Trump. The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), which represents over 800,000 federal workers, claimed that the VA cancelled its agreement in August as retaliation for their union's opposition to Trump administration labor policies. However, DuBose ruled that the agency provided no evidence that national security motivated the decision. The union's decision to reinstate the contract was finalised pending the outcome of a lawsuit.
