The musical duo Switchback, Marty McCormack and Brian FitzGerald, will perform their Irish/American roots music at Elgin Community College’s Blizzard Theater on St. Patrick’S Day at 1:30 p.m. on March 17 at the college. Since no alcohol will be served at the concert, attendees can enjoy a pint and maybe some corned beef at a pub after the show. The bandmates, who started their career as part of the Wailin’ Banshees decades ago, would typically perform all day and into the night, playing gigs throughout the day. They have also opened for the Chieftains in Tyler, Texas, on their ‘Irish Goodbye’ tour. Despite this being their first show at ECC, they have played private shows around Elgin and have seen and done so many times.
