Sir Ian McKellen, an actor who fell offstage during a performance, has recalled his "very shocking business" when he was hospitalized with a fractured wrist and neck injury. This left him unable to return to the London run of his stage show. Despite returning to the film set and performing in the X-Men franchise, McKellen has been left with a "feeling of horror". He has returned to the stage for two one-off fundraiser shows, but hopes to return for a more extended run.
