The chair of the Bernards Township Democratic Committee, Jane Conkin, has endorsed two female candidates for the position of mayor. Duarte McCarthy, who has lived in the township for 30 years, is currently serving a three-year term following the 2023 election. Conkin commended the candidates' commitment to addressing issues such as overdevelopment and resident safety. Prior to her involvement in local government, Duarte worked as a senior executive with Citi.
