Phillip Scott Ginkins, a master distiller of gin in Louisville, has been awarded multiple awards since his launch and is set to expand his brand's availability statewide. Ginkin's flagship Louisville Dry Gin has been expanded to several local spirits shops and is working with a distributor to expand its availability. Despite being dismissed by the American drinking public as the spirits’ equivalent of Pine-Sol due to its ubiquity of bad gin, he found an opportunity beyond bourbon in the botanical world of gin. The success of the brand has been attributed to the growing interest in the distilling industry in the area, particularly in relation to the booming bourbon tourism and an inquisitive spirits community.
