Alaska's cold weather pattern continues to remain, with snow showers expected to build into areas of Western Alaska. Despite a slight increase in snowfall, a persistent low in the Gulf of Alaska is keeping moisture around, causing areas to hold onto snowfall. Despite this, temperatures are expected to slowly warm into the single digits above zero, with overnight lows expected to remain below zero overnight. The coldest conditions are expected for areas along and north of Juneau, where highs will drop into the low to mid 20s, and overnight lows could drop into single digits. Despite these changes, winter weather advisories remain in place for parts of Southeast, with potential snow showers predicted for the rest of the week. The state is expected to be largely dry and dry again this week, with chances of snow returning next week remain low. The most likely to occur is in coastal areas and Kodiak, where a stray snow shower is predicted to occur today. The weather is also expected to continue to deteriorate, with temperatures expected to return to near, above freezing temperatures over the weekend and into next week.
