The film uses AI to create Kilmer’s character, Father Fintan, a priest and Native American spiritualist in the upcoming movie. This has sparked debate in the Hollywood industry about AI potentially taking jobs from actors. Mercedes, who was asked if her family would use her father's AI likeness and likeness for future movies, cited an example of the use without permission. The filmmakers followed SAG-AFTRA guidelines for "consent, compensation and collaboration" in the movie, which will be released later this year.
