Box Office Milestone: ‘Super Mario Galaxy’ Soars Past $300M in U.S. and $600M Globally

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, a sequel to the film "Illumination," has surpassed the $300 million domestically and $600 million worldwide. The film is expected to top the weekend chart with nearly $70 million in domestic ticket sales, contributing to an estimated North American tally of $308.1 million. It is also on track to earn another $90 million from 81 markets for a foreign total of $327 million. Meanwhile, A24's "The Drama" has dropped just 21 percent to $9 million, bringing its domestic total to $31 million. Universal's "You, Me & Tuscany," the first rom-com featuring Black leads since 2012, is also performing well, with a 93 percent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
