Hulu's sequel series to The Handmaid's Tale, The Testaments, has taken a fresh approach to the series, featuring 25-year-old actress Chase Infiniti. The Testions, a loose adaptation of Margaret Atwood's 1985 masterpiece, is set within a separate women’s sphere of Gilead and focuses on a teenage struggle for freedom and justice. Despite many issues with the series as it dragged on, I was surprised at how well it worked. The main characters are daughters of the state's ruling Commanders and are products of a fertility cult that rapes Handmaids and steals other parents’ children as it takes power. Despite this, the show's creator Bruce Miller has taken this follow-up in a more diverse and nuanced direction.
