The National Weather Service in Cleveland has reported a warm stretch of temperatures across Northeast Ohio, with temperatures expected to reach the 70s before Easter Sunday. The springlike warmth is expected to peak in time for the Cleveland Guardians' home opener Friday and continue into Saturday before a sharp cooling period arrives. Despite scattered showers throughout the day, temperatures are expected to rise quickly once a warm front clears, reaching highs reaching the mid to upper 70s across much of the area. Showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout the weekend, potentially disrupting the Cleveland area's home opener against the Chicago Cubs. Saturday may be the warmest and most active day of the stretch, but a stronger cold front is expected later Saturday into Saturday night.
